Types of Visa Ban in UAE

1. Labour Ban

- Failure to complete the term OR provide/complete the notice period will result in a one-year suspension.
- Failure to deliver or complete the notice period, or terminating the contract/resigning from the work before the end of the first year of the contract – 6 months to one year ban.
2. Permanent Residency Ban
Serious violations such as illegal/criminal behaviour or absconding might result in a lifelong ban. It is hard to re-enter the UAE if you have a permanent ban, whether as a guest or for residence since the authorities take your eye scan and fingerprint.
3. Immigration Ban
An immigration ban prevents you from entering the UAE as a guest or as a permanent resident. For example, Israeli nationals and persons with deportable illnesses are prohibited. In the United Arab Emirates, an immigration ban may be imposed on persons who have broken the law. An individual who is subject to such a ban will be unable to enter the nation or get an inhabitant visa. An expat who has been denied entry to the UAE is unable to work there. 4. Work Permit Ban
This prohibition is also known as the employment prohibition, however, it differs from a labour prohibition. You are only authorised to labour for a limited time, say 6 months, under this limitation. You can potentially be permanently barred from working.
Upon termination of a work permit, the employer is responsible for finalising the revocation of a person’s residence visa. If an employee is “sponsored by his or her parents/family,” he or she may keep his or her residence permit but not work or be given another work permit during the ban.
5. 6-Month Ban
Employees who leave their work without a valid reason or notice are given this award. The Department of Labour may limit this limit if your employer makes a complaint against you, depending on the seriousness of the case. This will not affect your entry or exit from the country.
Companies and employers may restrict their employees from changing employment six months in the past by imposing a ban on employment. This would prevent an employee from changing their visa for the first six months after the visa/labour card has been cancelled. After the UAE Cabinet Resolution No 25 of 2010, the prohibition was lifted after two years of continuous employment with the firm.
A 6-month work prohibition is issued automatically when you quit your existing employment without good reason. Except when they are exempt from the ban because of their qualifications for a new employer (Freezone, Government), qualification above High School Diploma, as well as AED 5000 High School salary, AED 7000 Diploma holders, and AED 12000 Bachelor’s degree holders, all work under the Department of Labour is automatically banned for 6 months.
6. 1-Year Ban
This, like the 6-month restriction, is imposed on employees who depart without giving their employers enough notice. This suspension might last up to one year, depending on the seriousness of the offence.
- If an expatriate worker leaves government employment, a one-year ban is also enforced.
- If you violate the provisions of your employment contract.
- If you lose a lawsuit against your employer in court.
You can appeal and get your 1-year ban uplifted under the following circumstances:
- If the applicant has a minimum education qualification of a high school diploma.
- If the applicant meets the minimum salary of AED 5,000 for a new job.
- If the applicant has a minimum salary of AED 7,000 for diploma holders.
- If the applicant has a minimum salary of AED 12,000 for bachelor’s degree holders.
